How the Drinking Post Works
Based on the same principle as a frost-free yard hydrant — trusted farm technology for decades. The base sits 18″ below the frost line and connects to your pressurized waterline.
Animal Pushes the Paddle
When thirsty, your horse, cow, or other livestock presses their nose against the paddle inside the empty bowl.
Fresh Water Fills the Bowl
The paddle opens a stop-and-drain valve underground. Fresh water flows up from below the frost line, filling the bowl in 5–8 seconds.
Water Drains Completely
When the animal walks away, the paddle releases, valve closes, and all water drains into the leach field below the frost line.
Nothing Left to Freeze
The unit sits completely empty between uses. Nothing to freeze, no algae, no cleaning. Water stays ~50°F year-round.
